Eyes of Scandal - Rimmel London Scandaleyes Collection Review

Rimmel London’s Scandaleyes collection has been drip-fed to us Aussie girls over the past couple of months, and I’m happy to report the bulk of the collection is now available in Priceline.

The Waterproof Kohl Kajal Pencils were released first and these bad boys are creamy, pigmented and stay put. Available in 15 shades, these pencils can be used on their own or blended together to build intensity for impact.

I picked up Black (the perfect matte black liner) and Bronze (which has a slight golden shimmer) and for someone who isn’t an eyeliner application pro, like myself, these are fail-proof.

They are also said to be dupes for Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliners (I personally haven’t tried the UD pencil) but for $9.95 (Urban Decay’s version is US$19) these are a real drugstore must-have!

The Retro Glam Mascara, Thick and Thin 3D Eyeliner and the Eye Shadow Sticks are the latest collection releases and are currently on an introduction special offer at Priceline.

(L-R Thick and Thin 3D Liner, Shadow Sticks and Retro Glam Mascara)

The Retro Glam Mascara has an hourglass shaped brush, and it’s pretty damn huge. The size doesn’t bother me, but I do predict it isn’t for everyone (especially those of you with smaller eyes). The formula of this mascara is good, I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite mascara but it does hold a curl so I can’t complain.

As I mentioned above, I’m not the best at eyeliner and for that reason I never wear it. I’m trying to master the art so I also picked up the Thick and Thin 3D Eyeliner. The felt-tip applicator is designed to help the whole process, with no brushes or need to build up the product. I’m still trying to get the hang of eyeliner, but this is my new go-to when I’m in the mood for experimenting.

Onto the Eye Shadow Sticks - ahhh, finally. These are the highlight of the collection in my opinion and they haven’t left my everyday makeup bag since I bought them home.

(L-R 003 Bad Girl Bronze and 002 Bulletproof Beige)

The ultra-creamy texture makes these eye shadows a dream to apply and literally transform your lids in a single swipe. We have nine shades available here in Australia and 003 Bad Girl Bronze and 002 Bulletproof Beige had my name all over them.

I use 003 all over the lid and place 002 on the inner third and corner, blending out the crease with a fluffy brush but fingers will do the trick just fine. These sticks of brilliance have my stamp of approval all over them.

Rimmel London has been hitting the mark in my books lately, and this collection is no exception. For me, budget makeup shopping is all about finding  products I would pay big money for (but not asked to) and this collection is one of those gems to be found amongst all the misses on the market today.

Pick up the whole collection at Priceline in store or online here

Until next time,
