Rosie Recommends Returns... with NARS x Guy Bourdin Collab!

I've been out of the blogosphere for a little while, and for that I apologise. I have now moved into a new apartment and the internet gods have shined down from the heavens and our wifi is finally connected. I have a few blog posts in the works and what to return with has been on my mind but I think I have struck a winner. Well read on, and you tell me...

Cosmetic collaborations have been all the rage for the past few years and to be honest, nothing has really tickled my fancy since the Lancome x Alber Elbaz stint - check out my review here. That is until NARS released their holiday collection in collaboration with one of Francois Nars biggest inspirations, Guy Bourdin.

Hailed as one of the greatest fashion photographers ever, Guy Bourdin sadly passed away in 1991 but has continued to inspire people around the world, and Mr Francois Nars is one of those many people.

For us Aussies the collection is released exclusively with Mecca Cosmetics and unfortunately some items from the collab have already sold out.

Case in point - The Promiscuous Lip Pencil Coffret

Completely selling out Australia wide within days of its launch, I thought I would have no such luck getting my grubby little paws on this beautiful kit. Until today. When I did.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw two boxes with Guy Bourdin's iconic photograph gracing the cover, sitting on the shelf of the Mecca Cosmetica store at The Galeries.

Featuring five editions of NARS' best-selling Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in Cruella, Sex Machine, Never Say Never, Dolce Vita and one velvet gloss lip pencil in New Lover. The five mini pencils are housed in the most amazing satin and patent lip embellished pouch, that I will be sporting as a clutch.

I was told Mecca has released another 500 sets and when this batch sells out, it will be gone forever. So run, don't walk ladies!

You can purchase this kit for $65 at your local Mecca Cosmetica boutique (if in stock) and online here.

I hope you have enjoyed this welcome back to Rosie Recommends and you can blame me for the dint that will be returning to your wallets.

Until next time,

ajarose xo
