WE'RE MOVING!

The time has finally come and I'm super excited to announce -

This means no more posts will be uploaded on the page you're currently on... BUT there will be regular posts on the brand spanking new and shiny website!!

Making the leap from Blogger to self-hosted Wordpress has been on my 'to-do' list for a while now, and I am over the moon with how everything is looking so far.

However, the site is going to need some teething time, to sort through the issue of a brand new website and also for me to get familiar with a different hosting system.

I hope you love the new website as much as I do, and please feel free to drop me an email on my contact page with any feedback or ideas you'd like to see!

I also have a newsletter feature on the site and all you need to do is pop your name and email down to stay up to date on all things RR.

I'll see you over at RosieRecommends.com

Mr. Tom Ford - The Lipstick God

I've always google-eyed over the gold accented makeup counter in David Jones, but had never taken the plunge into the uber-luxe world that is Tom Ford Beauty

As a downright beauty junkie I will find any excuse to justify a new purchase, what was it this time? A bad mood - what better way to turn a frown upside down than with a new lipstick, right?

(L-R: 01 Spanish Pink, 15 Wild Ginger)

After countless hours watching and reading reviews on the signature lip colour line - Rouge à Lèvres, my first dip in the pool was with 01 Spanish Pink - the perfect pinky nude to go with literally any look.

And from that innocent first time handing my card over to the beautifully made up Tom Ford employee, I was hooked.

Next up was a bolder option, 15 Wild Ginger - an orange undertoned red. On recommendation from two of my favourite bloggers, ViviannaDoesMakeup and Lily Pebbles, this was automatically my next purchase.

The formulation of these babies is just divine. The creamy constancy means they glide on easily, last for hours and a huge thumbs up in my books is that they don't dry your lips out.

RR TIP: Wonder how I get the TF monogram to remain intact? Apply using the back of the lipstick bullet! A little OTT, but that's the way I roll...

Oh and we can't forget to talk about the insane packaging, all I can say is wow

The burning question here is, should you fork out your hard earned cash for a piece of TF Beauty?

Obviously Tom Ford is a luxury brand, making these lipsticks something to save for and believe me they are purse weepingly expensive. But to me, the packaging, the formula, the colour range and downright luxe quality of these lipsticks make the $$ price tag well worth it.

Pop into a Tom Ford counter (for the Aussies out there, this would be in David Jones) to cringe over the price.

But trust me, once you've tried these bad boys, the hole in your wallet won't feel that bad.

If there is such a thing as a lipstick god, he would go by the name of Mr. Ford, Mr. Tom Ford

Post Holiday Funk

So the last you heard from me I was going on holidays.

Over a month later RR is back, but don't go thinking I've been in paradise for that long. Don't get me wrong, in my mind I've been on holiday this whole time, but in reality I've just been lazy.

For almost two weeks in this month-long hiatus I was in paradise however, and it was
fan-bloody-tastic.

It's time to snap out of my post-holiday funk and get back into the swing of things, after all who else is going to make you spend lots of money on totally not essential beauty products?

Getting back into the groove of real life has been hard, but you know what hasn't been hard? Getting back into the groove of shopping. Who knew how easy that would be!? But the good news there is, you can expect some juicy recommendations soon!

This is just a quick little post to say hello and to reassure you that I am still kicking around.

I have some exciting things in the pipeline for RR this year, so to make sure you don't miss out on anything head over to Facebook and click LIKE to stay up to date!

Travel Essentials - Skincare Edition

In eight days I am jetting off to the Gold Coast for a quick (but jam-packed) three day visit, before flying out to Lord Howe Island for a tropical getaway. I'm not usually a frequent flyer, so I am already getting in preparation mode to ensure I don't leave any essentials behind. February couldn't come quicker.

Today, I'm going to give you a nosey around the skincare and haircare bits that made the cut.

First of all when travelling, the smaller the better. Not only is this due to airline regulations, but also who wants to be lugging around extra bulk in their suitcase? No, thankyou. So my first tip would be to pick up a travel kit to decant your necessities into.

I bought the Aesop Carry-On Travel Case Pack (AU$19), which comes with three 100ml plastic bottles and three plastic pots, as well as sticky labels and a transparent pouch to keep everything in. Oh so chic.

Note - the kit complies with worldwide aviation regulations for on-board carriage of fluids.

I opted to decant the John Frieda Shampoo and Conditioner and also my trusty Bioderma for makeup removal (Priceline also sell a 100ml version), to go into the three bottles.

RR TIP: Use a translucent mask, like the Origins Drink Up Mask, on the plane ride to and from your destination. The air on the plane will strip your skin of it's natural moisture, so a mask like this will give you a healthy, glowing boost.

Of course I needed to pack a few other goodies so I have a travel size of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Eye Gel, a mini Moroccan Oil Treatment and a purse size Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical (to add to the holiday feeling).

The final essentials include cotton pads for makeup removal, cotton tips, hand sanitizer wipes and hair ties and bobby pins.

A good few days too early, but I can't help getting kicks out of having everything so organised (not to mention in miniature form).

I haven't started on the makeup bag yet, so when that's complete you might be lucky enough to have a squiz.

Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser Review

So, I'm a little obsessed and I need to tell you about it. But not before the back story.

One beauty thing I'm pretty bad at doing is remembering to apply body moisturizer. I get out of the shower and just can't be bothered.

Laziness? Yep

This year is the year to turn it around.

Almost a month in, I was doing pretty rubbish... Until I found the newly released Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser in Cocoa Glow. Note: this is named differently overseas but is the same product for reference.

Oh dear lord is this stuff da bomb.

I've tried the Vaseline Total Moisture Lotion offering in Cocoa Glow before (I actually have two bottles of the stuff in my stash) and when I have remembered to give the body a bit of pampering, that is what I've reached for.

But until I watched Amelia Liana's video, which featured the Spray and Go version (here - mentioned at 8:10 into the video), I didn't know such a thing existed.

Then enter Lily Pebbles raving about it as well (here) and you have a beauty product hunt down on your hands. Well, on my hands, but you get the picture.

It's just so damn easy to use, sinks into your skin quickly and smells insanely devine. Basically I want to apply it after showering in the AM, after showering in the PM, before work, after work, mid work (yes that as happened) - pretty much any time I can get my hands on this stuff I'm spraying it.

Obsessed? Yep

Priceline is now stocking this on Australian shores and it retails for $9.99. If you want to feel (and smell) like the best thing ever, get involved with this.
